Found Drugs

Car theft and drug addiction go hand in hand - you can't have one without the other. These rocks of crack cocaine were found in the pocket of a car thief when he was arrested and searched.

The cycle of drug addiction is simple: An addict will need cash to buy more drugs, usually crack cocaine or now more commonly, meth-amphetamine. In order to get more cash, the addict will steal a car or truck which he will use to commit other crimes such as armed robberies, home invasions, purse snatching or break and enters. Once he has committed the crime and received his cash, the addict will buy more drugs. This cycle repeats itself over and over every day.

Some addicts will steal 5 or even 7 cars or trucks per day. Until we as a society deal with our drug addiction problem, we will always have auto theft to deal with. Auto theft is like a barometer that indicates a city's level of drug addiction.
