Police Carjacking Task Force Nets 89 Arrests, Files 554 Charges After Probe into GTA’s Violent Car Thefts

The Provincial Carjacking Joint Task Force announced they made several arrests and charges in violent vehicle crimes in the GTA since September. 

In a news release Thursday, Toronto police say the joint task force made 89 arrests, 554 charges and 109 vehicles have been recovered since Sept. 21, 2023, after enforcement. 

Of these crimes, some include carjackings as well as home invasions for the purpose of auto theft, police say.
